Product Details

Valley Yarns Baker’s Dozen eBook is a collection of weaving drafts for dish towels designed by Anita Thompson. You’ll never get bored with this long towel warp—there’s something new to weave every 29”. This excellent eBook shows how to weave 13 different towels off of one warp and threading. It’s a very efficient way to use your time by minimizing the time spent warping the loom. And with so many designs, you can weave something different for everyone on your gift list.

Equipment: 8-shaft loom at least 23” wide; at least 3 bobbins, 3 shuttles; a slim boat shuttle and pick-up stick or sword measuring at least 21” long x 1 1/8” wide for the lace pick-up; white sewing thread.
Warp Yarns: 1804 yards Brassard 8/2 Cottolin (60% Organic Cotton/ 40% Linen;  ½ lb tubes/1680 yds per tube) shown in C0101 Blanchi for 4 towels OR Valley Yarns 8/2 Cotton (100% Cotton; 1 lb/3360 yds per cone) in 8001 White
Weft Yarns: *
UKI 20/2 Mercerized Cotton Mini Cones (100% Mercerized Cotton; 8400 yds/lb) for Overshot borders and under hems. (See individual towel descriptions or click on images of individual towels to see weft requirements.) WEBS does not carry this yarn.
Warp Length: 4-yard warp of 451 ends (includes 2 floating selvedges) for 4 towels, add 1 yard for each additional towel
Sett: 22 epi, 2-3-3-3 in an 8-dent reed or 2-2-2-3 in a 10-dent reed, 22 ppi
Finished Dimensions: average size is 24” long and 18” wide unless otherwise noted
Weave Structure: Rosepath Twill threading; tie-up and treadling variations produce twill, overshot, lace pick-up, waffle weave.

*Note: WEBS no longer carries UKI 20/2 cotton. Any 20/2 cotton (8400 yds/lb) should work for sections that call for this yarn.
