Product Details

Valley Yarns 5/2 Bamboo Natural is an undyed yarn with the unique shine and drape of rayon from bamboo. You'll love the smooth, soft look and feel of projects woven in this elegant fiber as well as the gorgeous drape and sheen. 5/2 Bamboo Natural is ready for dyeing, or use it as is for weaving or knitted lacework. While this yarn has the same number of yards per pound as 5/2 cotton, the characteristics of the fiber itself make it behave differently. Valley Yarns 5/2 Bamboo is spun in the United States.

Sett notes: Tabby, or plain weave, should be 16-18 epi in most cases, with 18-20 epi being appropriate for twill.

5/2 Bamboo  is also available in a beautiful range of colors.

Color Cards and Color Books for this yarn are available.

Note: This yarn is sold in whole cones. Wind-offs are not available for this yarn. On average, cones weigh ~1lb but vary and can range between 0.8lbs to 1.3lbs. If you need a minimum weight on the cone, please include that request in the special comments box during the checkout process. We will do our best to accommodate but cannot guarantee specific cone weights.

I have used this yarn for both warp and weft in scarves and shawls. This brilliant white yarn dyes easily with a fiber reactive dye to create yarn with lustrous colors. I have successfully done ice dyeing as well as my usual method of painting the warp. I love the weight of this yarn and will continue to use it for future projects.
